Thumbs down Music Title Conversion??? - 06-16-2007, 04:07 AM

Is there any way to easily turn this:
04_-_turn_your_radio_on_128_lame_cbr.mp3

Into this:
Turn Your Radio On.mp3

or something similar without doing it manually???

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Jim

you may want to look on the net for editing id3 tags.

but in general, first change the actual file name: right click, then 'rename'.

then,

(if you using windows media player) right click on the song in the player, and go to 'advanced tag editor'.

go through all the tabs in this box, and change what you want.

If you download with Alltunes, you can actually set the filename format in the preferences secton.

If you have a bunch of files that you want to rename based on the info in the tag, I reccomend using ID3 Renamer Its free and works very well.

Thanks everybody for the suggestions. I think ID3Renamer is going to fit the bill if I can figure out how to set it up correctly...haha... I will be trying it out probably tomorrow or the next day.

A million thanks phobozad for the clue to ID3Renamer. I had been starting to do the renaming by hand. This program is better than "Mom's Apple Pie."

IT WORKS SUPER... ... I changed the names from what comes out of allofmp3 and others that I already owned to what I wanted for about 10,000 songs in bulk all at one time and it did it in only a very few minutes. When finished I checked them all over and I had to manually change a very few that apparrently the ID3 tags were not right on them

If you haven't tried this program out and want to do renaming try out ID3Renamer.
