Ordering is temporarily disabled - 11-26-2007, 10:53 PM

I saw a one or two threads about this from several months ago, which more or less died out, so I suppose it was eventually resolved for those individuals. I did not find anything in the threads that I could apply to my situation, however.

Basically, since I signed up for mp3sparks and first added money to my account, about a week ago, I've recieved the "Ordering is temporarily disabled" message every time I try to order any track. I haven't tried every day, so I suppose it is possible that the system is online very intermittently, but it seems more reasonable that it has simply been down for atleast the past week.

Has anyone else been experiencing this problem besides me, at this time? I understand that most people use AllTunes to download from the service, but in my situation I am unable to run the program (unless perhaps a thumb drive-based version is around that I don't know about), and would much rather simply download through the site.

Hi Hamled and welcome to the forum

You should probably do at least one of two things to try to resolve this matter:

You could try to find out if this an IP based thing by using Tor or some kind of proxy entering and ordering from the site.

And/or you should try to ask Assistance, if they for some reason or another accidentally ticked a box in their data base, which is now preventing you from ordering and downloading from MP3Sparks

Hi Hamled,
I have used the mp3sparks website and alltunes to download stuff today and both seem to be working fine. Alltunes was very slow (~40kbps) and that is why I gave up and went over to the website (worked at ~400kbps). Just out of interest, what are you using to do the downloading with (i.e. PC / Mac or something else??).
Cheers,
Dave C

I took your advice and put in an Assistance request, and they replied that the situation has been fixed. I haven't had a chance to try it on my usual machine yet, but here on a friend's computer everything is working perfectly.

Thank you both for the friendly and quick responses.

I have also been unable to login for almost a week now. I use optimum online and have had no problems before.

I tried to google mp3sparks but found nothing to indicate there were any problems.

Finally I found this forum and found the email address for support. Thanks for that info.

I can see there are many people experiencing the same problem. After trying to connect, I get the following:

The connection has timed out
The server at Mp3Sparks.com is taking too long to respond.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I saw your comment about changing the IP DNS and other protocol, but I am unsure I want to mess around with the numbers.

Do you think they shut down the site? It was so quick in happening.

I am experiencing the same problem I do not download using alltunes or other service. I download directly to my pc and then if I want to hear it I use windows media player or I import the file into itunes and convert to 128 kbps.

Hi bigsss.

I have just taken this snapshot (see attachment)

It's really not a big operation to change your IP-settings and you can always change them back to the ones of your ISP (just remember to copy and paste them into a Word document ).

You can also test an ordinary proxy to make sure that MP3Sparks has not closed down:

start surfing

or

Free Proxy Server by TNTproxy.com - Surf Anonymous Hide your IP (at the bottom)

And if your computer is a PC, you can also download the allTunes application to enter the MP3Sparks data base:

Download allTunes software for PC or Smartphone
