Those people must have written about MM with no insight knowledge, since it was rumoured that the price per Megabyte was higher, when you joined MM. Did anyone else notice this?

Good question! So I did some analysis to come up with viable theories, just like I did in the good old times, along with the former moderator

So the way the pricing works in general is that there is a price per megabyte plus potentially a charge for encoding - the algorithm would be something like Price = F + (S x B), where F is the cost to process/encode any song (probably depends on what encoding you choose etc), S is the size in megabytes, and B is the price per meg. So smaller songs cost more per megabyte than larger songs because fixed cost gets spread out over less megs (see, I am explaining it for the sake of the rest of the forum because you I am sure are somewhat familiar with math

). However, there is no difference for a 10 meg song I bought as an Allofmp3 member vs. a 10 meg song I bought as a Memphis Member, which leads me to believe that you're right once again - the rumors are baloney.
