Hi Henry66, thanks for doing that test for me. Its the bass drum that turns boomy using the Crystiliser. Nothing else is turned on, ie no DSP or anything like that.

To my ears, the Crystiliser is like a loudness button, exagerating the bass and treble, so interesting to hear you say the Xmod makes his voice rounder.

not here for sure. the low bass stays close to the same, the mid-bass is up a
minimal 2db. the actual enhancement is the snare and the voice: i had somebody
sitting next to me, and without the CRYS he could not distinguish the words,
with it on, much much better.

i would throw it out if that would be true. but it could well be, as i read, that
the actual USB version (the Creative X-Fi Xmod) really is much better than the
soundcard versions. if i get a chance, will try and compare that too. that might
be a while off, so you'll get a PM first.
