If you have one watch you know what the time is. But if you have two you don't know which one is right.

The more advice you get the more confusing it becomes.

No doubt about it.

Like most of these 'services' there is always a catch in there somewhere.

Personally I will stick to buying from Sparks et.al. and keep my phone for making calls.

Now isn't that what phones were intended to be used for?

Download music on a phone? Bah.
It's not like anybody really needs this capability.
Unless you're stranded out in the desert or something, but if you run out of minutes, then what?

That's what I thought too!

In fact on my first mobile a Motorola 'brick' that was all you could do!

The only reason you would want to listen to music on a phone is to only carry one device about rather than two. But if you flatten the battery listening to music what happens if you need to make an important call?

Personally I will stick to a mp3 player for my music.

Even if practically none of my students buy music from these DRM-infected places, I'm still having a hard time understanding, why they want to listen to the music coming out of those teeny weenie speakers...

"To listen to it with our friends," they say So there you have it - they want to do exactly what the record industry tries to prevent: Sharing music with your/their friends

I've been using a Mp3 players for years never got into the iPod scene,
didn't trust Apple.I use SD cards that are cheap now for memory
and making big ol mixes, and they are very portable.
Use them like cassettes.....
Pop one in take another one out....nothing out of you solaris

I also have never got into Apple products. Personally I think they are over-rated and over-priced for what they are.
Earlier this year someone in a group of people I was with was proudly showing off their new iPhone. And what was the hot topic? An add-on where a glass of beer was displayed and if you tipped up the phone the glass appeared to empty! Clever I admit, but I could not see the point.

The thing that annoys me most though is that pretty well all of the player accessories you see are for iPods.
