Gary Louris - 06-24-2008, 08:22 AM

Another new release I stumbled across and like quite a bit:

Gary Louris - Vagabonds

He is a founding member of The Jayhawks, this disc is produced by Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes.

Has an early-Eagles / Byrds feel & sound to it.

(Question - why is "International" paired with "Country" in this sub-forum ??)

You make some good recommendations Kaeli. Anything else I might not have heard in the rock, blues, r'n'b line?

Love the Jayhawks ...I'm going to check this out right away.

We were lucky to get either of them, so I guess if he "had"
to put them on, he put them on together......

Thanks for the link,Got the album..It's nice and a good listen
but, I found it bit lackluster.

The album reminds a bit of Gene Clark of the Byrds solo outings(though not as appealing).
Give any of his albums a go.Great songwriter and a beautiful voice.
I think that was what G.Louris was going for on this album.

It's also available on Lavamus, what a great album - a worthy addition to any collection
