Cool William Balde - En Corps Etranger - 07-03-2008, 09:18 AM

Stumbled onto this debut album browsing Sparks recently. William is a young singer-songwriter who migrated to France from his native Guinea as a teenager. He has a strong rich voice and sings an eclectic mix of songs in French, English and his native dialect. Hard to pigeon hole - very laid back - but influences of reggae, pop, blues and soul, as well as African rhythms. Well produced and the backing music and vocals are excellent. A commendable first release and one to watch IMHO.

Cheers,

Squash
