Question Payment questions are a problem - 08-25-2008, 11:02 PM

Once again we have had a payment question deleted for going into too much detail in public.

I am not for one moment suggesting that it shouldn't have been deleted. But it seems to me that this is a recurring problem here. People have quite legitimate questions which they can't ask, and I think there must be a better solution than this.

Is it possible, for example, to have the Payment/Money subforum premoderated? Would that help much, since these questions are also asked in shop subforums?

I don't know the answer. It just seems to me that the status quo isn't really working.

Ideas, anyone?

Sorry GM,

I am the one who deleted the thread, only because it was going nowhere and was not going to be answered. It is my prerogative. This is now a site policy
until further notice, set up by our administrator.Sub Forums? I will not be moderating payment solutions for the smaller stores because I am not their customer service Representative and do not work for them.
You can always write the Rep on site and if they are willing
to discuss payment options with a member,by all means that is their right.
There is also the sites assistance.
It is also their right not to have these options discussed in these Forums.
We must respect their rights as members here as well.

We usually look for a solution that makes everyone happy. But I'm
afraid at this time, it is not possible to do so.As long as the RIAA are
looking to shut them down,we are here in support of their existence, and
we will do what ever we can, to be of assistance to their survival.

Please write aom3 with your concerns in this matter.

Hi Nightfly

I know it was you who deleted it, and why - and as I said before, I have no complaint at all about you doing so.

But someone asked a valid question, and useful answers were given, and it vanished. All I was asking was if anyone could think of a way where questions could be raised and dealt with without being splashed across the forum. I'm sorry if that was out of line.

Maybe an announcement stating that payments discussions are against site policy and listing store representatives whom to address would suffice?

GM,
First your question is not out of line, but I did, what I did for a reason.

I have not deleted a thread in months, so this is not a common thing here.
And when I do it is because of spam or forbidden content by site rules.

And the question was not valid at this time to be answered in these forums.
Usually we give an explanation Why we can't answer, but the post was not even specific to any site..so I had no idea, what site he was talking about and did not want any site owners to think we don't care about their wishes.

I can't make everyone happy and I realize that.I truly am sorry that you
were upset by this, because as you know, your opinion is greatly valued by me personally. But this was nothing personal. I was following site procedures, that have been presented by aom3 in these very Forums for
all to see.

I know if aom3 as a site owner puts forth a rule on his site,I trust his judgment that it is good for ALL concerned and a lot of thought has gone into it.We can still discuss MP3Sparks payment options if you wish. That
is a focus on this site and it continues.

Unhappy lets talk about this folks - 08-26-2008, 03:10 AM

gee wiz, i feel that after aomp3 took a major crap on this forum i really don't feel sorry for them if we want to discuss payment issues. lets face it they have not taken down the message on their website and will not anytime soon. i understand that aom3 does not want us to talk about the payment options openly, and i will respect that, its his forum.

bottom line is that the riaa can can log on to sparks and mm anytime they want. they can observe the new payments available anytime they want to. aomp3 are just using this forum as an excuse. if it was up to me i think we should be able to say anything we want about aomp3 payment methods.

nightfly, i would think you would be the first member not protecting aomp3 and removing post. i know you have never been a big fan of them, so why protected them?

thanks,

Shadman

thanks,

Chad,

You misunderstand,
It is the smaller sites we can't talk about as not to
disrupt their business. But if you read the thread,I said that Mp3sparks can still be discussed.

Whatever we do, we do not ever do things for personal reasons, despite
my personal feelings on whatever or whomever, it is the rules of the Forum
(community) that guide me and good old common sense....

Vik,

Probably to my regret, we will keep this open a little longer as so
people feel they are not being censored or to clear up any misunderstandings.

But as I have observed you are usually right about these things....
