Looks good. One question though - do unused downloads from one month carry over to the next and, if not, why not?

no, there is a one simple reason...lot of stealing would occur this way.

Nothing would prevent members to get $50 subscription for one month, pay $50 one time, get 2500 songs and then simply change their subscription to $5/month one...this way subscriptions would loose their purpose...you would get 2500 songs for $0.02 and pay almost nothing

Anyways there are so many packages that will fit everyones download habits.

Another thing is that even if you have songs left and month expires...you're paying them 3-10 times cheaper then in other stores...so it's not such a waste

Hi Seva, excellent, well done for a really creative idea

Looking at Squash's question the other way round, if I took out a subscription and, one month, wanted something over my subscription allowance would I:
a) Have to wait until the following months allowance kicked in
OR
b) Be able to pay something to download more than my allowance

well you would have to wait for the following month allowance...

When you look at it at first this might suck, but remember how much songs cost, I would suggest all members to go for the subscription that's little over the limit they usually download

Here is one very stupid sample to one other site that has cheapest prices

let's say you download 300 songs/month (around 20 albums)...this would cost you $27 at legalsounds or $45 at mp3sale or even more at other sites...

For $20/month on soundsbox you can download 400 songs(28 albums)... so even if you continue to download only 300 songs like you used to you would still save money

Here is another sample for the people that do lot of downloads...I'm glad to have such users

6 months subscription of $50 (total $300 billed only once)

in 6 months you can download 15,000 songs

now do the math, if you buy those songs for $0.09 = $1350
$0.15 = $2250 you would have to spend to download what you would pay $300 for 6 months with soundsbox... no one can argue that this is not huge money saver

Dear Seva,

First of all I would like to congratulate you on this offer and anyone who spends $50 or more a month can make a saving, provided there are enough new songs being added.

Where you make your mistake is comparing it to other sites!
mp3fiesta does thousands of albums for 99c, and mp3sale gives you double what you add on your account, which makes all their albums technically half price, then factor in the extra 20% off a complete album, and I reckon 20 albums on mp3sale is well less then 20$, and nothing near the 45$ you are quoting?
This is just my opinion and your offer could well suit a lot of people on here.
