on another matter, the Soundsbox.Com Download Manager 2.1.2 is really slow (like an hour plus per album). Can you not download Soundsbox.Com tracks using FlashGet???

Many thanks,

Hello Afton,

You're very welcome...........

Glad that worked out for you as I knew it would.

But the problem on the donloading problem seems like it's coming from your side because as we all can attest to Soundsbox has one of the
fastest downloaders around.I get 1,200 kp/s and a album
takes about 1 min and 1/2

Try to clear out your internet cache this can slow down
your downloading, and maybe there was some server contention on the files
you were specifically were downloading if they are popular ones.
So try it again after clearing out those temp internet files.
And we are assuming you have a high speed line.
See what happens..

Good luck,

Nightfly

about that downloading speed, this is definitely error on your site or ISP...if you see that download starts slowly try to stop download and start it again...these things shouldn't happen because files from same album are downloaded from numerous different servers, this was all built to enable fast downloads even if song or album is popular... I just tested it, just in case and all works just fine...

Thanks Nightfly & Seva,

Certainly is not my internet cache - cleared that out only yesterday.

Could be an issue with my ISP - Virgin Media I suppose.

I will try others over the next few days and monitor.

Finally, an obscure request - none of you guys can lay your hands on an album called "Free Ride" by Marshall Hain can you? I have it on vinal, but cannot find it anywhere digitally??? No problem if not!

Cheers,
Afton

Yesterday I replaced Download Manager 2.1.2 (which had been working fine) with v 2.1.3 and could not download the album I had purchased at all - I kept getting error messages (something to do with java and security). Finally after many tries I posted a message on their website. Later I asked for a refund since I got the album elsewhere but asked them to please still respond to me and tell me what's wrong or how I can get 2.1.2 back. I did get a refund, but I haven't heard back on my download problem. I don't know if I'll be able to get anything from them again until this gets fixed.

I'm not sure if this is the answer but do have the lastest version of Java?
If you don't you should upgrade to the newest version...
Soundsbox has a link in the downloads area.
Let's see what Seva has to say.
Hang in there.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that, I immediately checked Java from the Soundsbox site and it said I had the latest version.

hi,

Problem was with the server from where you were trying to download, not downloader itself.
All works fine now.
