Unable to download - 01-15-2008, 12:50 AM

I recently opened an account at Soundsbox. The first album I purchased did not download correctly and I got the following error message:

"ERROR: Song download failed. Security check 2 failed.ERROR: Song download failed. Security check 2 failed.ERROR: Song download failed. Security check 2 failed.ERROR: Song download failed. Security check 2 failed.ERROR: Song download failed. Security check 2 failed.ERROR: Song download failed. Security check 2 failed.ERROR: Song download failed. Security check 2 failed.ERROR: Song download failed. Security check 2 failed.ERROR: Song download failed. Security check 2 failed.ERROR: Song download failed. Security check 2 failed.User closed program."

I have been communicating with assistance and tried all of the suggestions offered without success. I have even tried to DL on another PC connected to a different ISP account with the same problem occuring. I have purchased a second album and struck the same problem with that.
Assistance is now saying they have run out of ideas and are offering a refund. However I would rather get the problem fixed and wonder if anyone here might have any suggestions.
I have never had any DL problems with the Alltunes, eMusic or Flashget downloaders.

Squash,

Do you have the latest version of Java to go along with Soundbox's
latest downloader version.
Do you possibly have a firewall or security program unknowingly
"protecting" you.
With Soundsbox you can only use their java based downloader
but once you get it to work..it is extremely fast and one of my favorite
downloader's.

When do the errors occur in your proccessing..Does the downloader
open at all ? I'm glad you're not giving up so fast..I think you'll really like it
there once you get this downloader thing worked out.

Hi Nightfly,
Thanks for you suggestions.
I have the latest Java and Soundbox's downloader. Everything looke to have happened as it should but then I get the error message set out in my first post. The mp3 files are in the folder but they are a lot smaller than they should be and will not play in any of the three media players I have.
I have not tried shutting off the firewall but will give that a go and see if that makes a difference. (Although I would have thought if that was the issue I would not get anything in the DL folder at all.)
Maybe Seva will also have some suggestions once he notices this thread.
Regards,
Squash

Squash,

Wow.. that is stange..it's reaching your folder,so you're right doesn't sound like your security...maybe one of our tech oriented guys might have a idea as well...
and hopefully as you say, Seva will see this and have a idea
himself.

Hang in there,

Nightfly
