Interesting Support Policy - 01-21-2008, 01:31 AM

Hello All,

Been reading the forums for a while, my wife was quite upset to find that Alltunes went bye bye. So we have been looking for another service. She signed up and deposited some money @ Soundsbox the other night. I came home and explained to her that Mp3Fiesta was 4 cents cheaper per song and they have a download client.

I kindly sent an email to Soundbox support to ask if they would cancel the deposit before they processed it, since they apparently have 12 hours before that happens. I'll let you see what ensued.

This is an exact cut and paste:

can you please cancel my recent deposit of $20 US? I figure it easier to ask
you to cancel then have my bank decline the transaction.

Let me know if this will work.

Thanks,
xxxxxxx

Another interesting tidbit.....after the $20 cleared, my account @ Soundsbox.com has been DISABLED. Instructing me to contact support, who no doubt disabled it.

I'd like to see a response from seva or nightfly on this. Should be interesting.

Till then!

Hi xanadu.

That is interesting - in a sick and twisted kind of way

I sure hope seva is going to apologize to you and your wife, when he springs by the forum the next time.

I have a gut feeling that this is one of his associates/employees replying and not the man himself - but nevertheless he (seva) should apologize to you first and tell his employees how to threat their customers next.

I apoligised in the other thread and also find this unacceptable..
I did not read the whole post ...sorry didn't have my glasses on..
now I'm glad I did.
This must be cleared up with an explanation, but this is the first time
we have ever seen anything of this nature from this generally good natured site.

I'm sorry about this... This was not me, it was someone replacing me for these two weeks when I'm gone...I don't receive any e-mails at all, can only check what's happening on the forum.

I did check what happened with your refund and this was issued same day.

Now I can totally understand why this happened. First of all I don't see any explanation why you wanted your money back?! People make deposits, use it and then treat that they will use chargeback and so on, also we do get charged $5 from our processor for every refund issued and on top of this every refund we issue processor counts and to them it's not a good thing. This is why we don't like it, I don't even have to mention smartases just making deposits to see how we process so they can see descriptor and shut down processing or complain to them... There are many reason for the reply you got, It's could have been nicer but as well as you could have tell your reasons not threat that you'll contact your bank...

If you only said your reason, even if it was "I cant use your service, problems with downloading" or the reason you said on the forum...or anything that makes any sense you wouldn't get this nasty reply, I'm sure of it...

Also your account is disabled because money is refunded...

I wish you guys would also try to understand with what problems we are dealing with every day, believe it or not but all customers/members are not good as you are.

I could understand that my request be denied if I had in fact used ANY of the balance. This was not done. I only asked if I needed to contact my bank because I wasn't sure that there was a process to refund deposits. I simply asked which way they prefered me to handle it. This in no way was threatening.

While you mention there are many reasons why I got the reply that I did, I fail to see any of them. If you are not aware of how to treat customers please let me inform you that in no circumstance should the word "Fuck you" be said or written to anyone that is potentially paying you for a service. There's no way I could explain to you how awful something like this appears to your potential customer base.

If the funds have indeed been refunded, I thank you and wish you luck in your business.

Thanks,
Landon

Sincere apologies to everyone especially Xanadu, but am I the only one who thinks this is hilarious.
Still, cannot see it happening in Marks & Sparks, shame.
To be sworn at in English by a Russian, I am almost tempted to join soundsbox!

F*** it, I cant be nice and serious with this any more (this is not honest opinion what I think), I think this is funny to me as well...hell it's my site and if I dont like someones actions I think I have every right to block his account... I would rather loose 50 new customers then loose processing and screw up people who like the site and want to use it and make deposits (1000's of them so far)...

Even on this forum there are many people who got help from me so many times, even refunds when solution was not found...I dont even have to mention requests for music we are filling in every single day... I'm being honest and will say that I really don't care as much as I have black under my finger nail about this

Some of you will say this is not fair but what is???

Whatever you do you are only as good as your last refund/request.
