Thumbs up New Steve Earle.. - 09-02-2007, 04:52 AM

I know that Kalvin will be interested in this.. I asked Seva for some
Steve Earle he uploaded some great titles the next day ..
Thank you Seva.
But the the coolest one was the new Steve Earle
"Washington Square Serenade" which is not due out until the Sept 24th..
I just finished listening to it and it is a wonderful album..
also there is my favorite album by him that is not on Sparks
called "I Feel Alright" a great rocking album that he made after he made a
comeback from jail and rehab...highly recommended,
and a great collection album "I Ain't Ever Satisfied"

Edit: Another recommend from the new releases on Soundsbox is John Doe- A Year In The Wilderness (2007)
John Doe was the founding member of the punk band "X" and has turned into a great
singer/songwriter and has created many quality records over the years. This album rocks
with well written songs. He is in the the same vein as Frank Black from The Pixies.

Thanks,

Nightfly

Thanks,
Thanks again, Nightfly. I was checking soundbox and I think I'll let them growing a bit more. I know that you, Solaris and ohers like this site, and I'm aware about Seva efforts to keep growing their catalogue. But I'm worried about this releases before its "official" date (Sep, 24th, in this case).

What's your concern Kalvin? Just curious if I could help with your concerns ...The quality is decent at 160 VBr and sounds good to me with no broken files.. but for a $1.34 it's a great pre-release preview..and I like being the first
kid on the block to have it..

If you like Kalvin pm me I'll give you more info...

Hi Nightfly

My concern is about the origin of these files, taking into account that the CD isn't released yet. About it's legality: I mean that one thing is to sell in a shop (Russian or wherever they are) released music, that I think it's perfectly legal, and another thing it's to sell music that isn't "officially" released, that I have doubts about legality. This is a practice (pre-release) that I've noticed is common in some shops.

About the files' quality, well, I had a bad experience with two albums: Sloe Gin (Joe Bonamassa) and In The Search Of The Fourth Chord (Status Quo). After I downloaded I've realised (I visited the group's website) that the Status Quo's album wasn't "officially" released (like the Steve Earle's).

Curiosly, the Joe Bonamassa's album was updated at the site where I first downloaded, the day after it's released by Sparks (with a good sound quality).

Anyway, I think I'll wait a few days.

BTW, I've just been talking with Vikulenka a little while ago. She's in Barcelona, but it seems she has a little problem with the Internet connection. She's fine. Tomorrow I'll meet her, but I have to practice my spoken English because I told her that I'm "bold", but I meant "bald", and I don't know if she is laughin' or scared now

Cheers!

Kalvin
