One of reasons why we are better! -
07-08-2007, 12:36 AM
All mp3 download sites including "all mighty" allofmp3 have something that reeeealy sucks and all will agree with me. When you buy your song/album, you'll download and that's it, you cant download ever again so if you loose your stuff or delete it you have to buy the same thing all over again. Buy my standards this kind of sucks...reason for this if so people wouldn't share their music. I'm wondering why such a big players didn't configure thing that will let you keep all purchased stuff in your account forever so you can download again if you want or you loose your stuff but still prevents sharing of purchased files among people?! Well you have this on soundsbox.
So you know we have something no one else has

GoMusic.RU lets you download again. Don't know how long the links stay active, but I bought some music back in March and it says I can still download it.

To Seva, Pastor and all other website owners,
If you accept that many people can and do download free music every second of every day, why would we give you our money for nothing. Apart from legality answers, my answer and I guess millions of others is quality. I and many others do not mind paying a fair price for quality music, that is why allofmp3 was successful and probably the best, it was and still is, the only one I know that gave us exactly what we wanted. My previous answer still stands, if you want our hearts, you have to be the cheapest or the best, or be in the middle with about 30 other sites, selling the same quality music at the same price and take your chances?

Well, actualy, there's one more problem you didn't mentioned.
All sites music databases are different from each other.
Yes, 50% of music are the same on all sites, but 50% - is unique...
Plus to this - all of us has some albums, that are no longer available on CD or Vinyl and so on (and you can get them only from collectors)...
And well, it doesn't matter where to get new stuff - all sites has the same new albums and ~ same price. But when you're searching for some older music....

Yes Pastor...Not everyone is looking for the top 100..and everybody's
musical needs are different...Personally my priority is musical diversity
and if I put 192 or 386 into my mp3 player...I could care less..
and those hard to find esoteric selections are to me what makes a sight
special... It is about musical content..that is if you love music, more than technology.. and there is place for everyone in competition and why is it so important to be #1 ...competion is good for business and the consumer..
I'm with you you go to the site for it's content ...And when you download...
... if it sounds good to YOU..the downloader..that's all that really matters..we are not all major audiofiles...though the topic interests me
to some extent..it is not my priority when searching for hard to find music
or imports that would cost me at times $24 a pop...discovering and listening
to new music is where it's at for me...and if I really enjoy a download...might I dare say, I will actually but it for that CD quality.
Take care,
Nightfly

Thank you so much, Nightfly, for telling me about this website. Their response is amazing - I post a query or a request and I get a personal email within hours, sometimes minutes. This morning I let them know about Roberta Gambarini and the fact that she's been voted Best Jazz Vocalist 2007 beating out Diana Krall, Dianne Reeves, Tierney Sutton, Cassandra Wilson, etc. and within hours they not only added Roberta Gambarini's 2 main albums, they also added albums of all the other artists I mentioned! Go take a look!
