Hi
Seva,
I have just created an account on the basis of a choice of file formats being available. In fact I have just sent an email from within the site seeking clarification on how to do this. My default file format choice is Ogg Vorbis Q8. It is only after reading this thread I discover my reason for creating the account is not valid.
I didn't realise, on the other hand, how young your site is, so maybe we shouldn't be too harsh, but I do have to agree with archon & chris7.
It is early days yet but on examination of only one track from a 2006 CD, your file size, for a 4 minute 03 second track, is quoted as 4MB which, according to my calculations, is approximately 135kbps. On most of the other 'lesser' sites it is 5.57MB when purporting the bit rate to be 192 kbps. The AllTunes file size for the same track, also nominally at 192 kbps, is 5.70 MB and it is OEEX sourced. Your download appears to be well below the 160 kbps minimum you quoted.
As has been stated elsewhere, perception of coding artefacts is a very personal thing. I prefer to buy my music at a quality level where I cannot hear any degradation and then go one increment better to be on the safe side. Your comments about what is good, and not good, are personal to you and there is nothing wrong with that. However it would be wise to offer what a significant minority want - the choice of audio quality. 'The customer is always right' comes to mind.
I wish you every success and hope you will take regard of these criticisms in the helpful manner intended.
