Muxtape, the popular mashup between the Internet and 80s cassette mix tapes, is back! Okay, not really.

The site has resurfaced after its tussle with the RIAA, but not in its original form or functionality, making it a return in name only.

Due to what it describes as heavy licensing restrictions by music labels, Muxtape says it is unable to continue allowing people to make and distribute online mixes of their favorite music, and will instead be relaunching as a place where bands can showcase their work.
