Getting this message the last week or so, figured doing the update to alltunes might solve it but same result.

I'll just wait it out, thanks everyone!

I'm not having any problem with purchases though.

If it comes down to it, I can "preview" a song on youtube then buy it on alltunes.

Long way around, isn't it ?

Got this from tech support at memphis members..... Still only 30 seconds though

It is no longer possible to preview the entire song, just a 30 second clip, this is not enough to decide whether or not to buy.

Thanks

i would think the first NOT slipped in by mistake - only then sentence
makes sense. unfair of them, though, because such features were good
reasons to join and use them. customer service, and supposed customers
satisfaction, is not anymore what it used to be. remember when MEMPHIS
meant selected clients and prime membership?

PS: just noted i got this wrong. damos copy/paste is a bit confusing in its
layout. the entire mssg above is NOT the one from tech support, but actually
damo's request to them. the only word actually from tech support is the
'FIXED' at the end. sooooorrrrry!

AllTunes Previews OK - 07-30-2012, 04:06 PM

For the second time,
I am using AllTunes Ver 0.11.39.206 and all previews are the full length of the chosen track.

I have chosen at random Dire Straits and their last studio album which is "On Every Street", the first two tracks are Calling Elvis & On Every Street at over 6/5 minutes respectively, both played from start to finish?

I have had no problems with AllTunes this year.

Regards

I have noticed today that playing samples using the internal player DOES play them in their entirety. That's definitely an improvement; however, the samples player -- unlike using a system player -- doesn't allow you to rewind or fast forward, which is why I never use it. (I usually jump and skip around a few times to decide whether I want to buy something; it's a lot faster than listening to an entire song multiple times.)

When using a system player, I am still seeing truncations in Ver 1.0 of the client. The most likely explanation for your good fortune is that you're playing them internally, while I, up until now, was not. There are other possibilities, but that's my guess at this point.

I'd really like to see them restore the full-length preview to external players, but with the option available on the internal player AND mp3sparks.com, I suspect I may be starting to nitpick.

Thanks for the data points.

Keith

They do say very little. Once when I asked about the missing link to the Russian music section I was told "We do not offer Russian catalouge more"

Hello everyone,

Been busy for a couple of days.

Without even thinking about it, I just realized I am listening to samples on alltunes with no problem now.

Cheers!

PS Never heard of internal vs. external previewing, I presume it is some other program you use?

I also don't really use the sparks site, though I suppose I could do so.

Dumb question -- I don't suppose DLs from sparks will be reflected in my alltunes folder. Though the change to my balance should be, right?

OK thanks everybody! ! !

Open Settings for allTunes, choose Samples Player, and check "Use system player instead of built-in". Using an external player lets you scrub (rewind/fast-forward/move to any point) the sample, so you aren't required to listen linearly from start to finish.

The download location is controlled by your web browser. Assuming you haven't configured your browser not to prompt you for a location, you can choose the allTunes folder location for the download. However, it'll be up to you to create any artist/album subdirectories.

The balance is consistent on both the web site and the alltunes app, so purchases on one will be reflected in the other (requires reload, though).
