Hi costanza

I replied to you in the other thread, but most people seem to be viewing this one, so I'll break the rules on double posting

For anyone who's downloaded the downloader and finds themselves with a baffling zip file, just rename it from .zip to .jar and double-click to run it. You must have Sun Java installed first. The default music download location is My Documents.

Brilliant. That works for me and I have just downloaded my first album.

Thanks very much gm. I''ve been tearing my hair out (what's left of it) trying to sort it.

Hm. Spoke slightly too soon. Search facility still does not appear to be functioning properly. Every time I type an artist name into the box and hit "search", the screen goes blank.

However, if you search by letter, you can get through to their library.

gluteus is correct as always
that was a server side bug - you clicked on .jar link but got .zip file.
so you need to rename it (or just re-download the file, since the bug was fixed already). than you need to launch .jar file (double-click, etc). if the file won't be identified - this means you dont have Java Framework at all. you need to install it from the link (see guide page), and after few minutes you're ready to go with downloads.

regarding blanks, problems, etc - i guess it would be nice to establish "knowledge base", this will help my team to release 0.9 stable asap.

p.s. software does not require any additional libraries (like allTunes) for the full operational.

thanks again, mates.

Thanks for the advice Skyforger. I already have Java and have no problem accessing Skyshare Manager. Unfortunately, I can't get the search facility to work so would appreciate any further advice.

Happy to contribute to a knowledge base.

One thing that I have noticed is that if your search yields no results, then a blank screen is displayed, the only way out is to quit and start the app again

"search button" issue fixed, please re-start applications to reflect changes.
blank screens are in the "to-be-fixed queue" now.

Thanks very much for your prompt action Skyforger, even more so because you must be incredibly busy at the moment.

it's great to have the site back up again.
