please re-download the fresh version of software from it's common origin as specified at skyline website (either mac or win, or both)

Skyline Manager not working - 06-29-2009, 06:44 PM

I'm running OSX skyshare manager 1.4.3 and it doesn't seem to be working. I access the login screen and hit ok, but nothing happens afterward.

I attempted to visit the website but get a 502 Bad Gateway.

Any ideas as to how I can fix this?

Thanks!

It's out of order right now. Grit your teeth and keep trying.

Hmmm.... I'm using the updated version (Mac) and it no longer sees anything by the Low Technicians. The web site says it's sorry, nothing found in tracks or albums. If I then click "view the best matching results", it claims that "Low Technicians" is the second best match for "Low Technicians".

Back to the app... If I search for The Alpha Conspiracy, it doesn't find anything. If I search for Alpha Conspiracy, it finds The Alpha Conspiracy.

Looking at Forward Rewinding, the artist, album, genre and traffic fields are OK, but the "download all tracks" button is still rendered over the tracks field. The button moves right if I extend the window horizontally, but the metadata display doesn't center in the panel.

It looks to me like the layout problems have been partly fixed, but the search function has been broken.

actually, i've just performed search ("Low Technicians" keyword) at both web and soft. both gave me pretty the same results: 2 albums "Remembrance" and "Forward Rewinding" and 19 tracks (no need to list them all here).

so i'm not pretty sure, what is the glitch here. though i could suggest there was typo in your initial request. if so, web would offer your some related results, while software (unfortunately) returns nothing, because it only performs so-called strict search.

this is strange, to say the least. my request for "The Alpha Conspiracy" keyword at software satisfied me with 3 albums (Cipher, Aura and Forward Rewinding)

the "d/l all" button is bound to lower right of the meta pane, so it tries to stay there while being resized. metadata itself should not center at all, since it is "boxed" from left to the right.

i, for one, get the proper layout for any of the skins, when clicking the above mentioned album. so could you please send me screenshot of yours, via PM, so that i'll forward it to the tech?

also are you sure you have 1.4.3 build?

thanks much,
Max

Curses, Batman.

Yeah, everything's giving me the expected results today. Don't you just hate it when that happens?

The d/l button overwriting the tracks field is a trivial issue. I tried to get a screeenshot but all I got is a core dump, so I'll give up on that one, if that's OK with you.

Did you ever get my email about artist names with embedded hyphens? Check out Ah Cama-Sotz, Bio-Tek or Synth-Etik if you have a moment. It's not every hyphenated artist name which shows this problem, just some. And if you look at the artist with the odd name of C-Drone-Defect, the first two albums, Nemesis and The Few, show up as C-Drone Defect (second embedded hyphen changed to a space) but the third looks like it's an album called Defect by C-Drone -- it's actually called Neural Dysorder Syndrome, and the word Dysorder has crept into each of the song titles instead.

Thanks for looking at the other problem-which-got-away. I'll stop bothering you now.

Hi dan

If you're running Windows, I guess you did something like installing Skyshare Manager as an Administrator, and you're trying to run it as a user?

The "Access denied" message means that you don't have write permission on the \res folder. You need to open a file browser such as Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder \Program Files\Skyshare Manager\res and add Write permission for the Users group (or just yourself). To do this you must be logged in as an Administrator. Right click on the folder, choose "Properties" then the "Security" tab.

Some versions of Windows, such as XP Home, don't have the "Security" tab. In that case, you should run the CACLS command from a command prompt.

Hope this helps

gm
