Skyshare manager: Is It Safe? - 08-12-2008, 12:20 PM

I just received the $5 gift certificate. I see that it is necessary to use a download manager on their site, but I am a bit concerned as I do not want to get any spyware or other undesirable stuff. (On other music sites I could always directly download the tracks). Btw I use Apple Mac.
Cheers and best regards.

please let me be the first who answer your question

as you can browse thru our forum, skyshare manager first appeared several months ago, and certainly it was tested by all our customers including those ones who are aom3 community members simultaneously. also, you could noticed that noone has ever reported that our manager contains any piece of malware. more of that, you can pass our software for virus-check to Kaspersly, NOD, Dr.web, etc.

each of them will show you "100% safe".

to be simple: software does nothing more than downloading files you chose/clicked from music network.

hope this clarifies.

regards,
Max

Hi snowman12

Well, skyforger would say that so let me be the second to answer. There have been no reports of Mp3Skyline, Mp3Xclusive or the Skyshare Manager containing malicious software, and indeed it would be a crazy thing to do when they are working so hard to rebuild their brand image. Like many other forum members I have no reservations about using their software, but ultimately you must decide for yourself who to trust.

Hello Skyforger,

Smowman12 also mentioned that he has a Mac. Does the new downloader work with Mac? The previous downloader did not work with Mac. I think there are enough of us Mac users out there to make it worth offering a downloader which works with Mac.

Thank you

marko, thanks for the question.

since skyshare manager is originally developed in Java(tm) IDE, it could be even said that software is designated for Mac users . Yet it works perfectly on any Win platforms, all you need is to install Java framework from their official site (there is a guide on our site how to do it quickly).

regards,
Max

Max,

Thanks much for the quick response and the helpful information. I had not been able to find the link to download the skyshare manager on your site but I did a little more digging and I found it. I have downloaded it and everything seems to be up and running now. I haven't the time to download anything right now but I will soon and, from the looks of things, there should not be any problems now.

Thanks, and thanks for getting your site back on its feet. I'm sure it took quite an effort.

Marko

Just to back up what others have said, the new version of Skyshare Manager works fine, and does not contain any nasty surprises.

Thanks for all your reassurances. I will give it a go then.

Skyforger, many thanks for the generous gift. I apologise if I offended you in any way with my question but since I did not know a thing about your site I thought it would be better to ask first before pushing the button. Good luck with your venture.
