When I try to download tracks on Skyshare Manager, It just says Connecting and then errors out after about a minute. Is anyone else having this problem?

Here are more details.

It shows status: Connecting
Then it shows: Error #10 Socket Time Out

I am using Skyshare Manager 2.0.4 Build 104

I have waited a week since first having this problem and it is still happening today. Wondering if anyone else has this problem.
Thanks

I have the exact same error message starting on March 16th. Skyshare Manager has charged my account for the downloads and creates files with zero data. End result is the Error #10 message that you have seen.

I sent emails to support@skyshare-manager.com and support@MP3Skyline.com and have not received a reply.

BTW, my operating system is Windows XP I am wondering if a recent Windows update is causing the problem . . . .

I am getting the error #10 socket timeout also this evening. (Sunday) I have gotten this in the past, and the download ultimately went through.

Trying to download music returns an HTTP error message from their server: "Cluster Uplink Broken...Network Cluster is unreachable". Presumably that's the connection to their music stash. Whether this is accidental or deliberate remains to be seen.

It doesn't appear to be related to Windows updates.

Tonight (Tuesday evening EDT) I noted that the downloader said it had downloaded my tunes, when I went to the file where Skyshare info is stored, the song titles were there, but there was 0 data. I have contacted customer support, but do not feel optimistic

After I wrote the message above, I went back to Skyshare manager and gave it one more try. Before I attempted the download, I tried the sample function, which worked fine. When I went back to download, the downloader was functional, and I downloaded 23 tunes. When I went to the Skyshare file on my computer, there was only one of the 23 tunes. By manually downloading the tunes one at a time, all were able to be downloaded. Curious.

Won't Launch Now - 09-17-2012, 03:13 PM

Skyshare version 2.0.4 won't launch for me now. I tried for the last 3 days with no success. The last time I used it was Aug 25, and as of Sept 15 no luck.
I was able to launch an older version 1.4.3 that I still have but when I try to play samples it says "Error". When I try to download it says "Connecting" but never actually does anything.
I am wondering if anyone else is now having this problem? Maybe it is dead for good now?

Hi steveo74

Skyshare v2.0.4 is working OK for me.

Have you perhaps upgraded your Java to v7 ? This breaks Skyshare Manager for me. Java 6u35 is still supported, you can find it at FileHippo. If that fixes your problem, go to Control Panel>Java and disable automatic updates. (That setting isn't sticky, you have to do it every time you update.)
