For all ELP fans... -

eMusic now has the complete Emerson, Lake & Palmer discography available. Unfortunately (for me), I've already got them all (except Love Beach and Works V2--totally unnecessary)!
Update: They now have The Marshall Tucker Band, too.

Have you downloaded any yet? If so, what bit rate are they using?
Curious because some of the stuff I have been getting lately is only at 150 to 160 kbs.
Thanks - Mark

Thanks, buckw! Like you, I already have everything from ELP.
What a group, huh. They introduced me to Classical, Jazz and Rock all at the same time. Saw them once with Cozy Powell on drums. Certainly not Carl Palmer, but still a treat!

I haven't downloaded any yet. However, my experience with emusic's bit rates has been quite good. I'd say at least half of what I've downloaded has been at 320, and 80% or so at least 200.

I would have loved to be there. My introduction to ELP came in college. I liked synthesizer music, and a friend told me about a band that I had never heard of that made heavy use of synths: ELP. I drove down to my local Sam Goody and, having no idea what to buy, settled on Trilogy (vinyl, of course). I was immediately hooked.
I've only seen the band live once: the Works tour at Madison Square Garden in the mid 70s.

A very eclectic band! As diverse as ELP was, you might also want to check out Emerson's earlier band, The Nice. While a bit inconsistent, their range of styles I believe was even greater.

Thanks for the info.
Your luck is better than mine.
Downloaded some Gillan tracks and they were at 160 or less.
Wish there was an easy way to know this before downloading.
I have had pretty good luck the past 6 years with emusic, so I should not complain!

Here's a thought: I use Media Monkey (free) as my default player. When MM plays a sample from emusic, it gives the bit rate. I haven't compared the sample rate to the full downloaded track rate, but if they're the same, that would seem to do the trick.
