Catalan eMusic - 01-09-2008, 09:44 PM

This isn't really a new thread, I'm just trying to answer to Nightfly:

Actually I use eMusic to download mainly catalan music (very difficult to find at the russian shops), and some Steve Earle's albums. But if someone wants to check some catalan music, I can recommend a group named "Antonia Font". They make some sort of naive pop, with very interesting lyrics. Well, they aren't exactly catalans, they are from Mallorca, and mallorquin (their language) is very similar to catalan. Their last work, Coser i Cantar, is compilation of their best songs played with the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra.

Another one of my choices at eMusic is a group called Kula Shaker. They made some pop with indian arrangements (I think they are Buddhists).

I thought everyone knew how to read the first written language of the human race

No, really - 'Tatva' was one of their biggest hits, reaching number two in the UK chart in July 1996

Kalvin,

In your extended absence from the forum, we've discovered that the answer to most musical mysteries, as explained by Solaris is :-

"It was a hit in the U[S/K] in 1980-99"

Correction :-

It was a #[1-40] hit in the U[S/K] in [January-December] 19[80-99]"
