Has anyone tried amiestreet ?
If so, what is your opinion?
According to the site, the price of songs is anywhere from free to 98c based on popularity. All of the albums I've looked at are priced at about 15c per track. I also found an album that interested me that was free, and I was able to download it right away, after I registered. Not sure what the bit rates are, since they don't specify that.
If you're into smaller, sub-genre bands that are little-known to the general public, particulalry European bands, this sounds like it might be a good place.

I typed in North Mississippi Allstars they had a album $0.98 a Track!
9.98 for the album!...I can get the CD cheaper..
This site on first viewing does not sit well with me..
But I did not really dig that far, and since I already am more than covered musically with more than I need..this site does not interest me.
Music quaility rates and DRM? are a mystery to me here as well.

I have been directed to this site a couple of time from Last.fm. It looks really good, but unfortunately the two albums which I have really wanted to get, and can not be found anywhere else, have both been priced at 98c per track, which I think is too expensive. I do like the sound of the setup though, I just wish they had set the ceiling height a little lower (will not go above 75c a track),
Cheers,
Dave C

Since I am into obscure European neoclassical darkwave bands (like Collection d'Arnell-Andrea or Les Secrets de Morphee, for example) I can probably find some useful things here that are less than on other sites. But overall, my opinion of the pricing is not too hot. In fact, their pricing philosophy is just plain silly.
Still, it's a curious site, and having found one free album, I may investigate further to see whether there might be some more for me.

A somewhat inventive/creative way of pricing their musical collection, I must say (see below attachment)
I like that they give the artists 70% of the sales, though
BUT a large part of their catalogue is US ONLY Those territorial lockings can kiss my a No, wait - my a is simply too nice looking for it to be kissed by something as UGLY as THAT!

I somehow read the "into obscure European neoclassical darkwave bands"-part as if he (himself) was European
