[FireFox] How To Download Multiple Songs At A Time - 06-04-2007, 05:19 PM

How To Download Multiple Songs At One Time

Hate having to download tracks one at time using the tiresome 'save target as' method? Well this guide is to solve this, allowing you to download all purchased tracks in one go with a single click of a button. This guide works with all current music shops that allows you to download tracks from a given link (has been tested with the shops noted at bottom of this guide)

Requirments:
1. Firefox Browser - http://www.firefox.com
2. Firefox extension DownThemAll! - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/201

Installation
Install the firefox browser then the extension.

Preferences
1. Load up firefox browser
2. Goto tools, 'DownThemAll - Preferences'
3. Click on 'Filters Tab'
4. Click on 'Add New Filter'
5. Fill out as the screenshot below (you can add different music formats as well as MP3) :

6. Click on 'Main' tab
7. Change 'Max contemporary downloads' to '2' via the drop down list. This is because some shops don't allow more than 2 or 3 concurrent downloads.
8. Click 'OK' to save the settings

Downloading Music
1. Go the the page which contains the links to each track. In this case I have used musicmp3.ru
2. Right click and choose 'DownThemAll' and a popup window will show

3. Make sure that the 'music' filter, which you recently created is the only filter created. All the songs should be selected, which you can double check. Also remember the download folder path.

4. Once everything is OK with you, either start downloading now by click 'Start!' or queue it for later 'Queue!'

Additional Notes:
Works with the following music shops:
Legalsounds, musicmp3, gomusic, mp3fiesta, mp3stor, mp3sugar, allofmp3, mp3ninja, mp3sale etc...

Lightbulb error 503 - 06-05-2007, 05:00 AM

Hi,

I tried this with gomusic and I got an error 503 message for each file after I hit the start button. None of the files would download.

Here is the fix:

Goto Preferences in the Downthemall window (bottom right)
Advanced
Multipart download
max chunks' number per download: 1(Disabled)

My max chunks was set at 5 originally. Once set to 1 it worked great.

Thanks for turning me on to this addon. Great stuff!

Thanks for that! Great tip - I know it's only the savings of a few seconds, but I love batch downloads!

I tried FF software before and couldn't figure out how to get files to show up in my music download folder as I wanted them.

For example: Artist Name > Song Title > Duration/Time

Andy Williams > Dear Heart . 2:59:00

Does FF software have settings to change the 'tags' that are downloaded.

I'm using mp3Sparks right now. Please help me if you can.

Thanks for the info. Could never get DownThemAll to work with GoMusic. Can't wait to try it.
Thanks.

I've tried using Download Them All for 4-5 albums DL'd directly from MM as opposed to using Alltunes. However, when I use this approach (filtered for mp3's), I get track titles that are not consistent with Alltunes tracks, nor I do not get track numbers either. Has anyone else run into this, or is it another GIGO event for me?

DLTA is kinda nice, as it runs faster for me than Alltunes.

Thx

I did try it some while ago but for some reason it did not seem to work for me, probably something I was doing.

I have to say I find allTunes to be fairly quick but it does depend upon the time of day. If I download about 07:00 (UK time) it flies along but in the evenings it is a lot slower. I usually try to download in the background whils I am doing other things so it is not really a problem.

Ashley
If you have one watch you know what the time is. But if you have two you don't know which one is right.

The more advice you get the more confusing it becomes.

Thx Ashley. I still plan to use Alltunes, as it isn't prohibitively slower, and it works much better than DLTA. I was just curious if others did or did not have similar results as me.

Alltunes is pretty slow in comparrison.I use FreeDownload Manager on
The Sparks final DL page after purchase and get very quick speeds.

I personally find Alltunes to slow but it may be convienent to some...
