Exclamation mp3spy.ru unlimited downloads ???? - 09-23-2007, 07:10 PM

Hi, I hadn't visited mp3spy for quite sometime. This weekend I thought i'd use up my remaining $5 balance. So far i've downloaded 500mb of music and no decline of my balance. I've logged off then back on still no change of balance. A friend of mine reports the same thing. Anybody who has a balance with mp3spy.ru might want to check this out!! I wasn't able to add funds to this service since last year so i kind of forgot about it.It used to be my 2nd choice after aomp3.com till the funding issues. Anybody know whats up with unlimited downloads???????

HI, mp3spy.ru doesn't limit to 25 tracks a day. I just downloaded 5 complete albums (Craving Lucy,The Cult,Monster Magnet, Abigails Ghost and Brian Byrne) in a couple of hours yesterday. In the past 4 days I've downloaded another 21 albums. All at 192kbps and the tracks sound great. Early this year mp3spy had a priceless plan which was unlimited for $1 a day (i think?) but the days ran together til the balance was used . So $5 was good for 5 days in a row of downloading. I've been downloading for over 2 weeks on my $5.45 balance with no limits. I don't know why but i like it!!!!!!!

>BT40..I too get my account "stuck" ..and get downloads for free..for months now and far more that 25 tracks a day albeit slow downloads. However, some (many) of the tracks I've downloaded have a "glitch" or two/three somewhere in them which is quite audible. About 50-60 secs in and some around 1min 30 secs in to the tracks. Some times the downloads are glitch-free though?!

Anyone had this experience?

Hi manorman, I haven't noticed any glitchs in the tracks i've downloaded, but I haven't listened to all the songs yet. In the past the quality has always been good on mp3spy. It's been about six weeks since i've had unlimited downloads with no change of balance. I'm using mp3sparks to preview music then using mp3spy to download it if they have it. I'm saving my balance on sparks for music I really want in a higher quality. I've downloaded about ten gigs of songs so far on mp3spy, so lots to go through when it comes to a end. The downloads are decent speed for the first 30 or so tracks then slow down. The basket is limited to 25 songs, but you just have to delete the completed then are good to go. The site has a good selection of hard rock/metal/punk and lots of jazz, blues, pop etc. I'm going to listen to more of the songs today and see what the quality is like and post back.

thanks BT40..I have been downloading for free for 3 or 4 months and until recently no problems. I use Flashget as a download manager.

Late yesterday evening I downloaded an album ..every track bar no.3 had an audible glitch..usually at34 secs or about 58 secs or 1 min 34 secs..a distinct pattern especially with the 34 sec ones though one was after 8 secs...one at 1 min 20. One song had about 10 glitches..normally its 2 or 3 .. The glitch sounds worse on Real player but is audible on WinMedia player too...but more as a small gap. I burned an offending file on to a CD-RW and its still there ..(not surprisingly!!).

So just now I downloaded from mp3spy an individual track of that same album..perfect..then 2 at a time..perfect..now doing 4 tracks simultaneously.

Weird or what..maybe it's if I ask for a whole album? ( I usually do)..maybe its my ISP?? who doesnt like "illegal" downloading and mp3spy's url are on some blacklist??..maybe it's when I have exceeded some sort of daily total that the glitches come..must pin this down its so odd...as I say its only happened for the last monthor so. If mp3 spy have rumbled me why not just stop the access to $0.00 albums?

edit 19.05 - had problems with 2 of the 4 tracks downloaded at once..have set Flashget to do one at a time (maybe its a Flashget problem). Re did the 2 offending tracks individually..no problems..weoird but kind of a boring way to download an album. how do others do the dowloads?..using a download manager like Flashhget or not?..would be interested to know.

Hi manorman, I've downloaded this weekend the 2cd Van Morrison (still on top) and the new Kid Rock both without any glitchs. I've been using IDM (internet download manager) Internet Download Manager: the fastest download accelerator for a couple of years now and really like the program. I tried the free trial then bought the full version.
I play the mp3's using a older version of Musicmatch (ver. 8). They also play fine on media player and also on my sansa mp3 player.
I also downloaded the entire albums by checking the select all songs box. I played a random selection of songs I've downloaded in the past two weeks and have no problems with any. A Friend uses mp3spy and he hasn't had any problems.
I don't know how popular this site is as I've never read or seen anything posted on this forum besides this thread. I've been using mp3spy for about 2-3 years.
