Mp3Stor Status? - 11-03-2007, 01:58 PM

Howdy;

Anyone know the status of Mp3Stor? I have been unable to connect for the last 3 days.
I know that the balance replenishment options have been few the past several months and am wondering if they closed up shop?
I have about 6 bucks left and would like to be able to clear it out.

Thanks - Mark

Hi markstan.

I have noticed the downtime too and have had the very same thought as you - but never count these guys out until the fat lady sings

I honestly don't think they would just close without some sort of a warning. Giving their customers a fortnight to use their balances for instance... Call me naive

I only have $4 in my balance, so I'm not losing much either but I would be surprised if they're not up and running again next week at the latest

Solaris;

Thanks for the reply.

I have the same hope that they would not close up without a warning, but you never know. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they will be up in a few days!

As a side question: Has there been an instance where a music shop has just "disappeared"? I am fairly new to the scene, but remember the AllofMp3 deal a few months ago and really don't count that as a "out of business" deal. I realize that almost any of the Russian/Ukranian sites are sitting on a bubble of some sorts, but don't want any to fail, especially if I have some money tied up with them!

I like the service and only wish that they would come up with some funding options outside of Web Money (which, call me stupid, I have never been able to figure out) and the SMS? deal where you charge it to your cell phone. I have a employer provided cell phone and am sure they would be thrilled to have a Russian music service charge on the bill!
Anyway....I'll keep checking!

Thanks again - Mark

Hi Mark.

A few years ago there was a Russian online music store called www.Tunster.ru, which suddenly disappeared

More recently www.Musicein.com stopped working

My guess is they've closed temporarily while a new crack squad of customer service operatives are put through their paces . . .

Agreed. That is why I am not too concerned if they have gone under. I would
like to be able to use my 6 bucks worth of credit though!

The failure rate doesn't seem to be too bad. I am a bit surprised as I assume that some of these sites operate on a shoestring budget and can close by just pulling a plug or two.
Thanks for the info.

I sure hope they come back soon, not for my money, but for their music.
