Question Organize Music - 01-05-2008, 05:16 AM

Hello All,

Well this is my first post and i stumbled across this site while looking for options on how to refill my alltunes balance (ran my $60 dry today )

I have taken a look at some of the other music services and i must say i'm quite impressed! I never new these existed!

I am contemplating switching to another service but it seems that only one (that i know of so far) offers a download manager legalsounds. I would like a download manager not so much for the speed but for the organization. In my alltunes program i have downloads to come in quite organized:

<First Letter of Artist>/<Artist>/<Album>/....

Is there any other services that have download managers that can do this or are there any programs out there that will do this?

Thanks in advance and thanks for this WONDERFUL resource you have here!

Hi crshman and welcome to the forum

SoundsBox has a great downloader too and everything's perfectly tagged

GoMusic.ru also has a downloader and so does CDonPC.

But quite a few of us use Firefox with the FlashGot add-on plus a download accelerator to maximize speeds. I use the Free Download Manager (with a Firefox plug-in), which give me download speeds between 1500 and 2500 KB/sec

Afterwards I use Tag&Rename for perfect tagging

Have you been to our sister site www.RuTunes.com to read our reviews of the many different Russian/Ukrainian online music stores

Hey There,

Thanks for the welcome

I have indeed visited your sister site, got me going in the right direction the only thing that was missing from there was the amount of songs on the table comparison

Other than that, it was a great site!

I'll look into the tagging software, i wasn't aware that these things existed! I'm sure i can find a suitable combination of software to get what i want done =)

I use a program called The Godfather to edit my tags and rename my mp3s. It can also physically organize your music, encode/decode, find duplicates in your collection, etc.

Link: The Godfather

Tag&Rename looks good too; I might try it sometime.

Tag&Rename looks for albums in six different databases. This means long stretches without a miss

If you just want a good free mp3 tag editor for Windows, Mp3 Tag Tools http://massid3lib.sourceforge.net/download.html works well.

Dare I ask for....linux? Any good scripted renamers out there? I've been searching but all i've found are GUI so i can't set a cron job to "watch" a folder and do it automatically.
