It's more useful to do weekly updates and integrate new fully loaded storage devices.
The site is still down - any ETA on when it's coming back up?

Also you could send your list to support@iomoio.com and we will see what we can do about it.
Btw, soon there will be music request form available.
This looks very promising indeed and you really seem to be ticking all the boxes. Thank you very much for the information. I look forward to combing through the catalogue in detail.

Cheers,

It does sound very interesting.
I would love to have a look through your site, but it is still down

Any idea when it will be back up?

Moving to another server - 04-30-2008, 03:10 AM

Kudos for outstanding customer service even during the downtime. Iomoio announcement is as follows when you go to the site:

We are currently moving our server to another collocation, thus all the data is unavailable at the moment. If you already have an account with us, please accept our apologies, all account information will be restored upon server integration. Also, you will be receiving compensation for the inconvenience.Thank you for understanding, Iomoio team.

Nicely done, iomoio. Can't wait to see the site and follow through on my pm to you.

Iomoio back up…but that's only half the story - 05-08-2008, 06:13 PM

Iomoio is up and running as of 2.30 a.m. Sydney time. However, most of the new albums were NOT encoded at 320kbps. I checked artists ranging from punk bands such as Anti-Flag, Bad Religion to pop punk artists such as A Cursive Memory and most were at lower bit rates.

I then clicked on the top UK and and America charting pop bands and the same was the case.

So the story is this. Iomoio really does have an up-to-date listing of acts…and that's to be congratulated but most of the bit rates on recent releases are anything but 320kbps. That's a real bummer because the impression that I got was that there were all these recent releases were at very high bit rates. Hmmm!

Yes--it's good to have them back. I agree that the 320 kbps tracks are scarce, but perhaps that conversion is still in the works. I did notice that my download history and shopping cart have been deleted, though.

I agree, it's a real bummer as I only download 320kbps as well. And the iomoio representative did say that most albums were being converted. Hopefully this will still occur now that the site seems to be operational.

I'm not a member yet so haven't actually tried to download anything - I'm proceeding with caution at present.

Cheers,

Angry very dissapointed - 05-10-2008, 07:48 AM

I have been waiting for this site to return in hopes that it would be improved like the rep said but after taking a look I must say that there are no real improvements its the same old site. maybe the rep can explain to us why there are no imprvements and where are the updates and 320kbs

Cheers,
It is not possible, unless Iomoio already possesses the tracks at the original 320kbps, to 'convert' music to a genuinely higher bitrate. Actually it is possible to make a track 'appear' that it is at a higher bitrate but it will keep the compression of a lower bitrate track and simply be presented in a larger file. Of course if Iomoio has all the source files at 320kbps then presenting at the higher bitrate, on their site, should be quite straightforward but you have to ask yourself, why, if the higher bitrate tracks were available originally why they weren't made available at the higher bitrate in the first place
