Thumbs down Find another store - 07-23-2008, 04:12 AM

When I first found their site I was excited that they didnt have DRM for their MP3 files, kind of cheap, and good quality.

Signed up to get the CD that I have been looking everywhere for (but didn't want to pay $20 for the freaking CD), went to add money to my account only to find that I could not because it was down. Not that big of a deal, they said it would be back up in a day.

Spent a while looking around their site to see what else they had, and noticed that the TOP 100 US songs was not working. It claimed it would be working 10 days ago, not to impressed by that.

So, time goes by, all day try to add money to my account, still not working. Finally around 8PM or so I send out a letter to them asking when it would be up. No reply at all, not even a CC of the email back to me.

Start looking at reviews and notice that this forum is around, and that all they have listed here basically is that their payment system is down ALL the time. Not impressed.

Next day still no reply or CC of my email. Not sure it even was mailed to them from their site. Update however, now they say that the payment system is not going to be working till the end of the week. Not a way to do business.

Send off another email to them about the whole situation and the way that I am feeling about them. Again, no CC.

Few days go by, no reply, nothing.

Now I know that sometimes it can take a while to reply to emails, but 1, you should CC the email back to the sender, or reply to the email saying that it was received and will be replied to as soon as possible.

I don't think that I will ever buy anything from them if this is what their system is going to be like, and I will not be saying anything good about them to my friends.

Hi igknight and welcome to the forum

You did mail your request to get a payment option to the below e-mail address, now didn't you?

support@millisong.com

If that one goes unanswered, then try PMing Vladimir, who is MILLIsong's representative here and goes by the forum name: MichailSPb

Link to PMing him is situated below:

I hope this helps

Thanks for the information and the quick reply, but to be honest, I dont want to have to jump through hoops to use a service, and if they want to keep customers, they should not make you.

If I give them money how can I be sure that I will be able to use it to buy things in the future? If their payment system keeps going down as these forums show, how do I know something else might not go down? Like their DB that keeps the info on what my balance is?

And I shouldn't have to go to a site that is not run by them to figure out how to contact them or pay.

Ill just find another store who has their ducks in a row and is willing to do business with me.

That's your prerogative. Good luck.

Howdy and welcome to the forum

When you find a store that you feel has their "ducks in a row", please let me know.
I have only been at this about a year, but I have yet to find a store that is 100% all of the time.
Most stores try their best, except for a couple that will remain unmentioned, but there is frequently downtime, payment issues and the like.
Give Millisong a chance as the rep here has generally been straightforward and advises us on issues with the site.

Good Luck - Mark

Yes I agree, Millisong is basically a very good site and nobody betters it for quality downloads, the rep on here Michail, is also very helpul, if you have a problem, you would do no worse than send him a PM, he has never let me down yet!

P.S. Welcome.

MichailSPb did just PM me, and I do thank him for the code, but if I would never have found this site (not affiliated with theirs at all), I would never have knowen how to get someone that would actually seem to help me.

I ended up going to iTunes as they were the ONLY other store that had the CD I was looking for, and the ONLY reason I got it from them was it was in the iTunes plus, aka 256 and without DRM.

Yeah, but iTunes are STILL off limits to 80% of the world population due to their regional/national DISCRIMINATION policy

Maybe these stores do not fit your criteria and you should go where
your comfortable.Itunes is comfortable, and they too are Far from
perfect and exclude much of the masses, and that makes me uncomfortable.

Good Luck in finding your perfect site...

I hope igknight finds what he's looking for, but I don't think a perfect download site exists.
As others have mentioned, most of the Russian stores have downtime or payment problems at some point, but we put up with it as it is a small price to pay to get reasonably priced music with NO DRM!!
