Lavamus taught me a Russian word today - 08-02-2008, 08:57 PM

There are several albums by the artist Enya, such that the last few tracks on the album are each only fifteen or twenty seconds long!

And when one of these super-short songs demo-plays, you hear the beginning of a familiar Enya song, followed by "Recording stuchkaru."

Stuchkaru, I infer, is Russian for "is f***ed up."

(Note to Lavamus: Fix your Enya catalog, please.)

Actually I don't know the word for 'dot' in Russian, but its saying recordings.ru, a site you'll only be able to access with a Russian IP, or by adding Russian language to your browsers default list.

I've long thought a lot of Lavamus's catalog seems to be made up from recs.ru, mostly because of the same rarities, same previews - only with the spoken 'recordings.ru' bit being cut off, but Lavamus has stuff recordings.ru doesn't.

Dunno if there is much Lavamus can do - on recordings.ru the tracks are only 20 seconds long too, it even says in the NFO on recordings.ru that the tracks are 20 seconds long, so clearly a botched rip from someone.

With Benv's explanation I now understand that your "stuchkaru" means "tochka ru", means "dot ru", means "recordings.ru"

Apparently Lavamus made an error in their catalog, and I was the first to notice. I came here and tried to make a joke about it, and instead of everyone laughing, I P.O.'d Vikulenka.

Don't be silly. I understand that the sarcasm was addressed towards Lavamus.

Noone is pissed off. I just didn't, having read your thread title, and then the so called russian word that you learned immediately get it as being any sort of Russian word. Hence the "eh.. no".

And now you can say that you did learn a russian word :- tochka
