[Question] What Am I Doing Wrong?

This is the second album I have had the same problem.

I have just downloaded the 12 x track Procol Harum album "The Prodigal Stranger", the tracks look and say they are 12 x Zip files, but Winzip does not recognise them and will not open them. What am I doing wrong?

I believe Lavamus is experiencing some technical difficulties. Try using one of it's sister sites as suggested by Solaris.

yeah server migration, complete pain in the neck, sister sites no diff as far as I can see, totally fed up, certainly s faster than last couple of days but not working right @ mo, though mr solaris has indicated a couple more days

It is might be a different issue here.

It's not loading so I can't check, but I'm pretty sure when you sign up there is an file extension option for mp3 or zip, probably for those behind internet gods that block MP3s.

It may be that rather than being a zip file, its simple a renamed MP3 file. Have you tried renaming one of the files from .zip to .mp3?

Chris,

Instead of using their zip funtion, use your own downloader it is
much faster and I used it just last night with Free Download Manager with no problems.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice, especially Nightfly.
The truth is, I did not want Zip files in the first place, I only use a Zip file if it contains the whole album! I was using FDM.

I went back to my download section and rechecked the 12 x tracks, I checked before I downloaded and hey presto they were now mp3 files???

Listening as we speak and all seems ok now.

So does this mean that Lavamus is now back up and running with no problems? Sorry, I didn't mean to give an advice that's not relevant. I was just basing it off what I read in this forum yesterday. I am not a customer of the store myself.

I think this means that the zip.file function to download albums, is not working
for some of our members,but you are able to download without it, with
great speed and perfect success.
