Thumbs up The Carpet Crawlers.................. - 10-29-2012, 05:25 PM

Went to see a Genesis tribute band last Saturday called "The Carpet Crawlers", this is the second time and both times they have been excellent.
They play a lot of the early stuff and you always get a minimum of three hours of music for about £17 or roughly $25, which in this day and age I think is good value. What I really like is they set up two sets of drums, and on some songs the vocalist double drums, some might find it too much, but I love it. If I could, I would like to watch them every couple of months, that is how much I like them.

They played at a venue called The Mick Jagger Centre, in Dartford Kent, which is unsurprisingly named after the great man who went there many years ago, and this is about a 30/40 minute drive from where I live. Me and friends go there frequently, and are back there again in December to see "The Blockheads" 35th Anniversary tour, sadly Ian Dury died a few years ago.

Regards

Good choice my friend, although my all time favourite Mott song is the Bowie number "All The Young Dudes".

P.S. Bowie's version is pretty good as well, just a great song.

Hi All,

Well, they were actually better than I expected, 7 piece including the singer, musically they were excellent. They played all the hits for 90 minutes, following a Folk type warm up band I had never heard of, not really my cup of tea, but the flute player was well above average, a sort of young Ian Anderson.

All in all a very good night was had by all, with the promise they will return next year, hopefully I will be there.

Regards

P.S.

I already have three gigs booked for next year, including Aussie Pink Floyd at Southend, Essex.
