New Russian copyright laws may be delayed - 06-15-2007, 12:10 AM

We have been told, by supposedly knowledgeable sources, that new Russian legislation which could ban AOM3 and similar sites will not become effective until at least Jan 1, 2008.

Is this new Russian law,if it actually does happen, supposed to ban sites like AOM3 completely, even in Russia,or just block access to countries that oppose such sites?

If it is just going to block access to ISP's outside of Russia,I hope I can find the proceedures to get in,possibly at this forum.
But if I can find the proceedures here,so can't anyone else who is determined to stop such measures.
Without it being technically legal in Russia,at least for those who reside in Russia,it will be a whole different scenario.

What's the solution?Is there one?
Will the Ukranian sites be effected as well?
Aren't there locations that don't give a hoot about the WTO now,and never will?
There must be,but maybe that wasn't the correct question.
A better question would be,how would you transfer funds, and could you trust the transfer of funds proceedures?
Transfer funds to AOM,in Russia, for a "legal service",then download from another location where there won't be a new law going into effect?

I'm sort of looking for opinions, and advice, while the getting is still good.
Or will it be just one of those things where,"it was good while it lasted, but now it's gone"?

Rolly,

I'm sorry but there are just to many variables and questions to things
that haven't happened yet for me to answer.

So to make it easy ..I will quote a old song ..my Aunt used to sing when
I was a child.

Que sera,sera
What will be,will be.

Enjoy the music rolly ..no one knows what tommorow will be bring.

All I read about this new law was that it will require the sites to be licensed by a government-appointed body rather than the self-appointed groups doing it at the moment. Even if that's true, it is indeed hard to guess the consequences.

LOL that's great rolly, so when ever you get concerned
about our friends at the Russian sites and their future..
(and believe me we are all concerned ..but we try to be
hopefully optimistic about their future)

Just sing that song out loud and you will feel better.....

Que sera, sera ..what ever will be, will be ...the future not ours to see..........
