I actually use an odd method of backup - I give my music to famioy and friends - that way hedging my bets! I also reguarly back -up to a seperate HD like everyone else. I had a number of tracks dissapear on me - the track names etc where there but the file size was zero. I just emailed my friend and he sent the track back to me. At that point I didnt have an external HD - so was pleased with my generosity. Karma?

Forgot to say - sharepod is the method I use for getting music off my ipod onto other peoples hardrives

SharePod

An awesome programme that's FREE, totally reliable, efficient and quick - it keeps ALL info from itunes, even lyrics. Very impressed with it.

Unless they don't like your music and delete it, or forget where they put it.

HAHAHA, this is so true...

I still prefer a local backup and an online backup.

It's effortless.

Nope, doesn't happen - my tastes come from my mum/dad so they keep it all. My mates are musicians and tend to keep every tune regardless. But it could be a problem if they don't like your music.

As I say, I use all the usual methods of back up, but as many people actually ask (and even pay) me for my music collection it's another element that gives me peace of mind.

I keep a local backup also and backup on the cloud.

I think that I'm pretty safe.
Hey Spazz

People are just posting their ideas about different backup options. A safety deposit box also holds other valuable items which people can't put in an online backup. Your idea is a good one but at least allow people to share their ideas without criticism.
