All payments fully down mid December? - 12-15-2007, 06:49 PM

Just wondering if anyone has had success with funding Alltunes/Sparks recently.

I have been trying unsuccessfuly for about a week. Last time (September) I had no issues at all via Alltunes (I am in a country without IP blocking).

For the past week I have had no luck with my usual methods.

As a last resort I just tried the Tor trick too (IPs in Germany and Hungary) without success.

In all cases I get same message:

"Payment temporarily unavailable
Unfortunately, the payment could not be processed currently."

Any ideas? Is it me? Should I take this personally?

Thanks for your help

Hi Colmar Pow and welcome to the forum. You're going to hate this but purely in the interests of research I have just added $25 to my Sparks account, using Mastercard, without a problem. I was taken to e-centru straight away without using any tricks and paid my cash.
What card are you using? Please note on MM, Sparks & AllTunes Visa has been a no, no for some time now. If you've got a Mastercard all I can suggest is keep trying

Hi Colmar Pow and welcome to the forum

Like Hirs Ute says the trick is to find an IP, which takes you to E-centru (if you're in possession of a MasterCard, that is)

Otherwise you have a few PayPal options, which you can read about in this thread: http://www.aom3.org/forum/funding-yo...html#post23504

It may be easier for you to add to a balance in one of all the other fine Russian/Ukrainian online music stores, which you can read about here: http://www.aom3.org/forum/music-shop...html#post23540

But if you're with MP3Sparks for the optional bit rate and file format, then you have to run through these hoops to replenish your account

Hi,

I recently created a new account in Sparks. I cannot fund this new account but I can fund my old account using tor and a mastercard. In fact just did to test it. It seems that the ability to fund is dependent on both the IP and the status of the user. Is this others experience as well? Is this a security measure?

I was hoping to give a funded account as a christmas gift. If I cant fund it I will have to use one of the other sites I use.

Question Chronopay - 12-16-2007, 12:31 AM

When did Chronopay stop working. I just tried refilling my balance and had to do it through mp3sparks so that I was sent to e-centru rather than Chronopay (which did not work). Obviously I have not been paying attention to the payment issues recently as this is the first time for ages that I've had any hassle paying (not that it was a lot of hassle really),
Cheers,
Dave C
NB. Had to refill as mp3sparks has just released the Boney M Christmas Hits & a Wurzels single on the same day (be still my beating heart )

It's been a long time

The plot thickens... - 12-16-2007, 01:50 PM

Thanks to everyone for their replies.

I think rider123 is on to something: it appears that new accounts have a different payment process/treatment.

I just tried my old account and had no problems via Sparks.

However, what I really need to do is charge a new account I just created as a Xmas present. With my old account, the Sparks payment step 2 asks me for how much to refill AND gives two options as to payment type (mastercard and JCB). After selecting Mastercard I am redirected to ecentru.

With the newly created account, step two ONLY asks for the payment amount, with NO section for selecting payment type. Selecting any amount ($25/50/75/100) and clicking "confirm payment" takes me to the dreaded "Unfortunately credit card payment is not available at the moment. Please come back later or try another method of payment" message.

So I am back to square one - I can't recharge the newly created account.

Any thoughts folks?

Thanks

Hi Colmar Pow.

If you're desperate to fill a new account, then use either phobozad's PayPal service:

Get an AllPay pincode from forum member phobozad using PayPal or MoneyBookers: allTunes Gift Certificate Request

The whole process from your request till you actually get the pincode from phobozad currently takes less than two days.

This pincode you can use to refill your allTunes balance (within minutes) and thereby your MP3Sparks balance, which is one and the same

Or use CMPASS:

If you have tried to fill your account using XROST.biz in the past, you might be able to go a somewhat similar route using CMPASS.com: :: CMPASS Prepaid Card

This excellent post by veganfred explains how to use PayPal on the CMPASS-site: http://www.aom3.org/forum/alltunes/9...html#post16163

Hi Colmar Pow,

I was attempting the same thing as you - giving a loaded account as a christmas present. My payment step 2 experience is exactly as you described. I sent a message to assistance and they transfered some funds to the new account for me from my regular account. They will probably get a bit tired of doing this if a bunch of us request it often, but it is worth a shot.

BTW, I have recently been able to add to my regular sparks account without tor and I was quite surprised to find that the payment function worked today in alltunes - I just added $20 to see -again without tor. I have not been able to fund through alltunes for over a year. I had tried yesterday and there was no option at all, but today I got one. I am in the US, use a mastercard and go through e-centru.

I am quite happy to be able to freely add funds again. Good luck!

Hi rider123.

Thank you for reporting back - and for giving us a useful tip at the same time

This happening from the same machine and same ISP suggests that it is mp3sparks themselves putting a block on the payments.
The account is being blocked, not the ISP address.
Can't imagine why except for some precautionary steps on new accounts.
A well established MAC and IP address seems to have less difficulty.

I had similiar problems earlier on,but now everything works just fine.
With only .02 cents balance,I am waiting to see the results of the "new Russian law" supposedly to go unto effect after Jan.1 before I add to my balance.
