Funding question - 11-28-2007, 07:26 PM

I am trying to open a new account for my niece as a present. I did that, but can not fund it via Mastercard like I can my other account. What I noticed is that when I click on pay by credit card, I do not have the option to pick what kind of credit card on the new account like I do my account. My account lists Mastercard and JCB/Diners/Other as choices. When I choose an amount on the new account, it says "Unfortunately credit card payment is not available at the moment. Please come back later or try another method of payment"

I sent a note to assistance telling them I can fund one and not the other and got this back, "Hello,
We’re sorry, our payment system is not accepting credit card payments at the moment. We’ll inform you when the payment will become available.
Accept our apologies for the delivered inconveniences."

Any ideas outside of attempting to pay by another method?

Which payment processor are you sent through using your niece's account?

It never gets that far.

1) Click on "Refill balance"

2) Click on "Add money by Credit Card"

3) 4 amounts show up, have tried all 4. Check one and click "Confirm payment"

4) Get "Unfortunately credit card payment is not available at the moment. Please come back later or try another method of payment" on MP3 Sparks site.

I tried going through allTunes and it also did not work.

Just to clarify, did you open your new account using Mp3Sparks, allTunes or both?

I opened my new account through MP3Sparks. I couldn't open under both, as if I try to open under allTunes after already opened in MP3Sparks, it says the account already exists.

Hi Lubon.

This is option number 4 in our funding sticky. Have you tried steps 4-7?

4. If your accumulated bonus with MP3Sparks isn’t noteworthy and you are in possession of a Mastercard, then you can use this funding trick discovered by gluteus maximus and brought to our attention (with the below step by step guide) by bloodgain:

1. Sign up at MP3Sparks with a new account and a new email address.
2. Verify your email address for the new account.
3. Download allTunes here: Download allTunes software for PC or Smartphone if you don't have it yet.
4. Sign in to allTunes with your new account.
5. Go to the Balance tab and click the now present "Refill Balance" button that was missing with your current account.
6. Follow the instructions to add via a credit card. You'll be taken to Ecentru, which is accepting Mastercard payments for MP3Sparks.
7. Check your balance at MP3Sparks or on allTunes. Enjoy!

As I said, I already tried through allTunes. When I click on the balance tab, the only thing I have there, for my new account, is "Activate PIN code" and the box to put in a PIN code. There is no "Refill Balance" button like my regular account has.

It seems like the new account needs some option set on their side to allow it to work. Has anyone with a US address been able to open a new account recently and add money via Mastercard?

I'm pretty sure bloodgain is American

Stay tuned for one or both of these guys (gluteus maximus and bloodgain) to reply to this mystery case...

Just one more thing... Did you try this through the allTunes application or just through the allTunes site?

I tried both. When doing it through the web site, I click on "Add money by Credit Card", check an amount (tried all 3), and click "Confirm payment" it gives me "Unfortunately, the payment could not be processed currently." where my regular account works here and gives the information to go to E-Centru to pay.

I am at a loss. I've tried everything I can think of and everything I read here.
