Smile Paying by VISA? At last? Maybe? Perhaps? - 12-18-2008, 08:52 AM

MP3Sparks left me, unsolicited, a message on my account's Assistance page--

Dear user,

if you have a valid Visa Card and want to pay with it for the service please let us know.

Kind regards, administration.

^^^^^^^^^ To all the RIAA lurkers: I'm just kidding, so disregard and go back to playing Solitaire.

Tom,

Others have got those emails but it has not panned out, and most everyone
has Not got one.So please if you don't have one, don't be dissapointed or complain here,it's just more shady Sparks business practices.

Thanks Tom....

Reading this I took it to mean that mp3sparks has been ripping people off; but just reading Mutiny's good comments in another post, it seems that they have never (to anyone's knowledge) done this. When you say shady business practices, do you mean the way they are trying to come up with novel ideas too allow us to add credit to our accounts so as to overcome the hugh obstacles put in their way by the RIAA; or have they stolen someone's money (referring to mp3sparks here and not Cmpass )?

The way they come up with these flyby night options, people loose money
and they take no resposibility. No thanks.Other sites are more forthright
with their payment procedures and they are also hounded by outside sources. If Sparks endorses payments through CMpass and they are not reliable, neither is the source that told you to go "and try" it.

No they are not directly stealing your money, but they don't care if you loose it either.
I am way over Sparks and their poor business practices.

Just my personal opinion...

hello nightfly,

when you are talking about the shady payment options, are you referring to sparks and mm, or just sparks?

i for one have never had any problems with refilling using mm payment options. i do remember awhile back when they were running the cigarette store and some members actually received smokes in the mail.

good day,

cr

Hi Tigermilk,

As I've said elsewhere, Cmpass must be run by Sparks. I don't know of anything else they do apart from (sometimes) supplying Sparks pincodes. If someone pays money, doesn't get a pincode and is ignored by customer service, they are being ripped off. I know they have big obstacles to overcome but that shouldn't stop them being honest with their customers. Other stores manage it.

Yes Chad,

Exactly! What did the people who got ciggarettes, who didn't smoke and wanted music?? Nothing. Some people got music, some got smokes, and some
got nothing. But Sparks or MM,probably just had a good laugh. But not very funny to some.I never belonged to MM for personal reasons, don't like businesses that exclude some of the masses according to how much money you spend or have.Seems very elitist to me...that's just a personal belief.
I understand people thinking it's totally cool, and I can dig that.

But they are taking in money and thriving.Someone is paying their bills.
Some people are welcomed right in and the rest of you have to jump through hoops, for the luxury of taking your money.

I consider them, just another business. There is competition out there and when I feel I'm not being treated right.I use my options and go else where.
That's how I shop all the time....

Ohh sorry, I did not realise this. I assumed that Cmpass was just some sort of payment processor site, like chronopay (or whatever they were called) who were taking advantage of the 'difficult to add funds' business and were just cashing in on it. If cmpass are connected to mp3sparks in some way, then as you say, this is bad of mp3sparks and they should do something about it.

Agree it is unfair and elitist, but bottom line is if you are running a business to make money, you look after the big spenders first . I just find it hard to believe that after so long they have not managed to come up with a decent payment method for us mere mortals yet

Yes Tigermilk,If I tell you to use a payment method I set up for my shop
and it doesn't go through. It is my obligation to see what happened to your payment as a customer.Under Allofmp3 management they would do this for you.But under Sparks mangmt. you are on your own.A sort of roll of the
dice for some.

Glad we came to a middle groud of understanding....
