Payment Email But No Credit On My Account - 07-12-2008, 12:04 PM

I realise what i have done wrong, but would like to know if i will be debited without my account being topped up ?

I used the SoftRanger option on my M.M. refill page, and i noticed it said something like XML failed, which meant i didn't have discount coupon code number.
I went through the process thinking it was generated automatically and when i filled in everything else (only the discount coupon box was empty), it processed the transaction saying payment was successful, but then something else popped up saying payment failed, even though i have still received an email saying the credit card transaction was succesful.

I now realise i should refresh the page to generate the discount coupon code before proceeding, which is too late now with my first attempt.
Dose it just take time for credit to show up on your account, or have i lost the money i just tried to credit to my account ?

Andrew I am afraid you may have lost this money, unless you can get SoftRanger to refund it to you. If I understand the way this works correctly, the coupon generated on your Memphismembers page is what lets SoftRanger know to link the money you just paid to your Memphismembers account. Without it, I'm afraid, your purchase is treated "legit" - that is, you just bought some software.

The money should appear in your MemphisMembers account instantly - if you applied the code. At least that's what happened in my case. But if they have no "ID number" to link the transaction to your MM account, they probably can't do it.

I would maybe plead my case with SoftRanger people - memphismembers people can't help probably because they didn't give you a code and therefore cannot prove the purchase you made is supposed to cover your payment. Another thing I would do is after a "discount code" generates on your MM page - it only happens once in a 24-hour window - you could maybe write to the SR people and ask them to apply the code to your payment.

Would you let us know how this resolves, if at all?

When you get a XML fail error, try refreshing the page and it will generate an new code for you.

Sorry too hear that you lost your funds. Most likely it's gone, but please keep us updated.

If it helps I used the SoftRanger option on Friday night (using the activation code) and got as far as seeing the payment confirmation from E-Centru, but then the page went to a SoftRanger page saying the payment had failed. I checked my MM account - nothing added but then logged on on Saturday morning and there was my credit. I hope that gives some hope to anyone who hasn't seen an instant credit to their account.

Hi there,

Same thing happened to me. Last week I added credit and it appeared straight away. This morning I added credit and it took 30 mins to show up. I tried it again after the first one failed and that one failed to. Like you I was bounced to a softranger page. But then 30 mins later I opened Alltunes and there was my credit( all $128)

I guess though that the OP has a different problem if they didnt add an activated discount code though.
