Exclamation Refill via Alltunes -- easy! (well, not anymore :( ) - 11-12-2007, 04:57 AM

Important Update: March 30, 2008:

We get many new forum members each day and to help those new members to read through as few "old" or "obsolete" threads and posts as possible, let me just emphasize that there are currently NO (known?) method(s) of payment to the shop that once ruled supreme amongst online music stores

If you still want to purchase music without DRM and at a reasonable price and without stupid regional restrictions, then visit our sister site www.RuTunes.com, where you can read about the many other quality Russian/Ukrainian online music stores

This has been mentioned in passing in a few threads, but I thought I would make it visible by posting my experience of 5 minutes ago.
Please post your experiences, so we can verify that this is consistent for everyone. I'll try to keep up with it and update the top post when new information comes along.

Thanks to gluteus maximus for suggesting this!

First, the steps for those who just want the solution:
NOTE: This requires a Mastercard -- get a free one from Paypal.com linked to your Paypal account and therefore bank accounts if you don't have one.

UPDATE: Added steps to refill through AllTunes site without installing Alltunes. I must have missed that link on the front page -- it's so tiny!

UPDATE: This no longer seems to work. We don't know if it's E-centru or the Mp3Sparks.com people that have cut it off, and there's no indication of if/when it will become available again.

1. Sign up at Mp3Sparks.com with a new account and new email address.
2. Verify your email address for the new account.

Choose from the following:
3. Download Alltunes if you don't have it yet. Install Alltunes.
4. Sign in to Alltunes with your new account.
5. Go to the Balance tab and click the now present "Refill Balance" button that was missing with your current account.
OR
3. Go to AllTunes and click the "Refill Balance" link in the upper-left corner.
4. Sign in to the page with your new account information.

6. Follow the instructions to add via a credit card. You'll be taken to E-centru, which is accepting MasterCard payments for Mp3Sparks.com
7. Check your balance at Mp3Sparks.com or on Alltunes. Enjoy!

The proof is in the picture:
Mp3Sparks Balance Page

Take note of the last payment date.

------------------- The story, for those who care------------------------
I was transferred via the "magic button" from allofmp3.com thanks to you guys a while back. Unfortunately, I was consistently unable to add any money to my balance due to Visa being a bunch of jerks (to put it politely) and blocking payments to Russian music sites. Then, as soon as I got my Paypal Mastercard linked to my bank account (thanks Paypal! Rock, rock on!), Chronopay went all Visa on us and blocked payments to Mp3Sparks.

I took a small remark from another thread and signed up with a new account (capnjim, an old nickname of mine). Mp3sparks had the same old Chronopay story to tell. But then I checked with my Alltunes program, and lo and behold I have a "refill balance" button! Clicking took me to Alltunes where I clicked $20 for a test run and got sent to E-centru to use my Mastercard. Moments later, I had my $20 on Alltunes!

So while this starts me from scratch with my bonuses, I hadn't had much time to rack up a balance before the shutdown of allofmp3.com. Sorry I don't have a better option for those of you with balance histories, but maybe this will be a stopgap solution for you until Mp3Sparks gets everything straightened out on their end and you can return to your high-bonus original accounts.

Hi bloodgain.

Thank you for that detailed report and I'm glad you are/were able to pay - but this could be an IP thing too

We have to have more forum members reporting if this is just you being "lucky" or if this works for all. I sure hope it is the last of the two

So please report your experiences in this thread

Thanks, I was wondering when mastercard would be available with PayPal.

Hi bloodgain

I guess you probably saw my post last week suggesting this as a payment workaround. Thanks for your feedback. The "magic button" I referred to was in fact a transfer option that some Allofmp3 users found in their Balance section, enabling them to instantly transfer to Mp3Sparks.

allTunes payments don't seem to be dependent on location or IP address, so it looks quite likely that MasterCard payment will work for all new accounts. Note that you may not have to install the allTunes application; try going to www.alltunes.com and clicking on Refill Balance.

If only having one email address is preventing anyone from opening a second account, try SpamGourmet http://www.spamgourmet.com or Mailinator http://mailinator.com/ .

Hi all,
Wanted to let everyone know that I just used AllTunes / Сделай жизнь звонче! and clicked the refill balance button. I clicked pay using debit or credit card. Chose $10 and went through ecentru using Mastercard. No problems whatsoever!! Immediately had $10 added to my mp3sparks/alltunes balance. And the great thing about it all is I live in the US!!! YEAH, I'm back to using alltunes with no hassle...hopefully for a long time to come!

Thanks, solaris. Thanks, gluteus maximus (I forgot to say thanks in the original post -- edit!)

I updated the top post to reflect gluteus maximus's suggestion of not having to use the Alltunes program (how did I miss that link?!) and asked people to post their experiences. I'll try to keep updating the top post if/when new information arises.

I swear, I looked all over Alltunes for a link that didn't require installing the program so I could post that, but never saw it. Go figure it's on the front page so I look foolish

Hi guys,

First post on this site - but this is a great forum!!

I tried this today after getting the old error messages about Mastercard, but alas it didn't work!

Got to the payment stage but after submitting details I'm told there was an error!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi mraquinn, welcome to the forum.

Can you be more specific about the error messages you received?

Hi,

Now this gets really strange!

I went back to the allTunes topup page to see what the error message said, and my payment went through!

So I tried it again, and got the error message back - see screen shot:

Really weird!
