What Happened January 1st??? - 01-06-2008, 12:03 AM

I understand that a lot of people are being blocked by either their ISP or one of the providers overseas.

But I think MORE people aren't being blocked, yet are unable to fund their accounts. Payment options (other than redeeming PIN codes) are all gone.

If you try to submit a query to tech support through AllTunes, you get this:

"This is a beta stage of a brand new allTunes music download software."

OMG. What are they doing?

In case you were going to suggest it, there are no payment options at the MP3Sparks web site, either.

I can access mp3sparks just fine, log in,but I get "sorry,we are not accepting credit card payments at this time, please check back later".
I guess I'll check back later.
I was reading in another thread about Steve Earl.
Sounded real good to me,but now I can't make a payment.
So I'll have to listen to the previews for awhile.

Rolly,

I'm a big Steve Earle fan myself.
And hopefully your patience will be rewarded with
some great recordings by him...

But until then..
If You go to Skyline.fm:

skylive.FM - home. Largest audio MP3 streaming station.

and you type in Steve Earle (don't forget The "e" at the end of earl or you
get no results..I know, I did that... ) you can listen to
"The Best of Steve Earle" the whole album is available to listen to in
excellent quality...I'm doing it right now..sounds great..
It's a really good way to check out a artist...

Enjoy,

Nightfly

I've been looking at SoundsBox for awhile now.
There are several albums there I notice mp3sparks doesn't have I've been after.
I do prefer .ogg,but .mp3 isn't a showstopper.
I like all kinds of genres, and bluegrass is one I see just about nobody has a great collection of.

I will have to create a list first of everything I want to get,so that I can download what I need within the 1 month timespan as per the monthly subscription rates.
Then find my best deal.
I would rather pay per MB similiar to mp3sparks,and download when I have the time, rather than having to get it all before the month is up.
That is what has been holding me back from using the site thus far.

After listening to some more previews,I notice Steve Earle is quite versatile in the types of music he does(rock, country, etc.) .
It's all good!

Hi Rolly

Nightfly told me about Steve Earle (big thanks! bud) ad I've downloaded everything I found at Sparks, eMusic and mp3sale. The Nightfly's favourite "I Feel Alright" is also available at mp3sale.

Enjoy it!

Well, that's super. Really. But it's time to put this ship back on course.

What exactly happened on January 1st?

Has MP3Sparks cut off payment options to the western world in compliance with new laws? I'd be surprised, as Russian courts ruled they could collect credit card payments.

Has anyone gotten a proper response from Sparks about all this?
