'official' he becomes. so if he/she for whatever reason decides to vanish, it
might have been proper and polite to give a bit of a warning and maybe a
cyber-space fitting excuse.

i am the last one to say he/she does not have every right to do as they please,
but a community as this one is not one-sided. it also brings some obligations.

Hi henry66

Solaris has contributed a huge amount to this forum for more than a year, with a level of commitment that is just not sustainable in the long term without a break. For me at least, he has earned the right to do whatever he wants, however he wants, and earned it a hundred times over. And that includes having his life back.

When I 'left' the forum a few months ago, the fact that I didn't say anything (at least, not in public ) about my reasons made it much easier for me to return when I was ready. For me, the absence of an announcement from Solaris is actually a good sign; he's keeping his options open.

I see no reason to think that Solaris isn't still working as a Moderator here - being such an orderly and good-natured place, it doesn't need a lot of visible moderation. As Amy.Dre said last night, you can see which members are currently logged in from the Quick Links menu (you can also see this at the bottom of the front page of the forum without logging in). What she didn't mention is that you can see the total as well, including those who are wearing their invisibility cloaks. Who the invisible folk are, and why they are watching over the forum, you must decide for yourself.

Dearest GM,

... In all this time I hadn't quite figured out why Henry66 is one of the invisible folks. I would love to know your thoughts on the subject

You might benefit significantly from editing the following post :-

http://www.aom3.org/forum/41442-post1.html

to elaborate on the meaning of "PM" for the uninformed.

That might eliminate the repeated posts asking what to do.

My dear Amy

Imagine the sound of the wind blowing through a large empty buiding.

I'm trying to lay the groundwork for a mythology here (do you remember the time Solaris fed all 5000 forum members out of his lunchbox?). Get off my lawn!

Dear Antie Glu,

Vik was always the first in line to worship St Solaris As an outside observer, I agree with your post wholeheartedly. But on a personal level, I am tad upset.

That aside, it still doesn't explain why Henry is invisible

I don't know what I said that offended you, but I'm sorry. I shall add some more smilies to my last post and retire to the attic to reflect on my misdeeds.

hey, in my post above i was trying to communicate what other people might think about this.
it was just a (possible) thought, not a critizism. i thought that was clear. my own opinion
('he/she does not have every right to do as they please') still stands.

HOLD IT:

by copy/pasting the above, i just noticed i could have made myself an idiot: that should, already
in the original mssg, have said ... DOES HAVE EVERY RIGHT ... !!!

is it the 'NOT' that has been misunderstood?. i am terribly sorry, that naturally explains your
reaction, as it might have turned my mssg and its intention upside down.

that happens when you try with your left ey and brain to be on AOM3, and with the right eye/brain
attending a meeting.

VERY SORRY ! i really meant to say 'he/she has every right to do as they please'

greets - henry

and: why does anybody here think i am not visible?
